Set Up the EU Legal Guarantee Notice for WooCommerce
We add the harmonised EU notice on the legal guarantee, and the GARAN label where it applies, to your WooCommerce shop — in the official design, in colour, and where customers see it before they buy.
hechenbros adds the harmonised EU notice on the legal guarantee to your WooCommerce shop — on product pages and at checkout, in the official design and in every language you sell in. If you carry products with a producer durability guarantee, we also set up the GARAN label per product.
Required since 27 September 2026 for anyone selling goods to consumers in the EU.
What you get
The notice in its official design
We use the official graphic from Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 — in colour, unaltered, in your shop's language.
Visible before the purchase
The notice appears on product pages and at checkout, where the customer commits — not tucked away in the footer.
The GARAN label where it applies
For products with a producer durability guarantee of more than two years, we also show the GARAN label, controlled per product.
Who this is for
WooCommerce shops selling goods to consumers in the EU
Swiss merchants shipping to the EU
Multilingual shops with several EU target markets
Merchants carrying products with a producer durability guarantee
What changed on 27 September 2026
Under Directive (EU) 2024/825 ("Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition"), traders selling goods to consumers in the EU have to point out the legal guarantee with a notice that looks the same across the EU. Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 of 25 September 2025 fixes its design and wording.
Your own wording no longer counts
A notice you wrote yourself in your terms or footer does not replace the harmonised notice. Graphic, colours and content are fixed and may not be changed.
The wrong place in the shop
Online, the notice has to appear in a prominent position and in colour before the contract is concluded. A footer link does not meet that.
Multilingual shops
The notice exists in all 24 official EU languages. If you sell in German, French and English, each language version needs its matching graphic.
Guarantees labelled wrongly
The GARAN label belongs only on products whose producer gives a free durability guarantee of more than two years covering the whole item. Showing it everywhere is as wrong as leaving it out.
Risk of a warning notice
Missing mandatory consumer information is a classic reason for legal warning notices — and whether the graphic is there takes anyone a few seconds to check.
We look at your product pages and checkout and tell you what's missing.
The notice and the label — the difference
Harmonised notice (legal guarantee)
Applies to every trader selling goods to consumers in the EU. It reminds them of the legal guarantee of at least two years for non-conforming goods. Online, in a prominent position and in colour, before the purchase.
Harmonised label (GARAN)
Only for products whose producer offers, at no extra cost, a durability guarantee of more than two years covering the whole item. Shown together with the guarantee's duration directly on the product concerned.
How it works
Review
We check which EU countries and languages you sell in, which theme and legal-text plugins (e.g. German Market or Germanized) you use, and whether producer durability guarantees appear in your range.
Placement
We decide where the notice appears in the shop — on product pages and at checkout before the order button — and agree it with you before anything goes live.
Integration
We add the official graphic for each language version. If an existing plugin handles it cleanly, we use it; otherwise we implement it leanly in the theme or as a small custom plugin.
GARAN label per product
Where relevant, products get a field for the producer durability guarantee. The label, with the guarantee's duration, appears only where that field is filled in.
Testing on every device
We check product pages, cart and checkout on mobile, tablet and desktop and in every shop language, and document the placement with screenshots.
With no interruption to your shop's ongoing operation.
Why a clean implementation pays off
One obligation off the list
The work is limited and one-off. After that the topic is done for your shop, instead of coming back with every wave of warning notices.
No plugin sprawl
We first check what your existing plugins already do before installing another one.
Update-proof
The integration doesn't depend on template overrides that the next WooCommerce or theme update will overwrite.
Fits your layout
The graphic itself may not be changed — its surroundings can. We place it so it stands out without getting in the way of the checkout.
After a short look at your shop, you get a concrete time and cost estimate.
Frequently asked
Since when does the obligation apply?
Since 27 September 2026. It is based on Directive (EU) 2024/825, which the member states have transposed into national law; Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 sets the notice's design and content.
Does this affect my shop?
The obligation applies to traders selling goods to consumers in the EU. Whether and how it affects your specific offer — for instance pure B2B sales, digital content or services — is a question for qualified legal advice, not for us. Once you know you are affected, we handle the technical side.
I run a Swiss shop. Does this apply to me?
Swiss law has no such obligation. But if you sell to consumers in EU countries, the consumer protection rules there generally apply to those sales. Clarify this with your legal adviser — technically, the notice can also be shown only for EU delivery addresses or specific language versions.
Isn't a note in my terms or footer enough?
No. The notice has to be shown in the prescribed design, in a prominent position and, online, in colour before the customer concludes the contract. A paragraph in your terms or a footer link does not meet that.
Can I adapt the graphic to my design?
No. Colours, font and content are fixed, and the graphic may not be distorted or worked into your own designs. Only where it sits on the page, and what surrounds it, can be adjusted.
What is the GARAN label, and do I need it?
The GARAN label marks a free durability guarantee from the producer of more than two years covering the whole item. You only need it for products that come with such a producer guarantee. We set it up so you can switch it on per product and enter the guarantee's duration.
Are there ready-made WooCommerce plugins for this?
Yes, several by now, and legal-text plugins such as German Market or Germanized are adding features for it. We check whether your existing plugins already cover it cleanly before installing anything new.
How long does implementation take?
For a single-language shop without the GARAN label, usually a few hours. Several language versions or the per-product GARAN label make it somewhat more involved — after a short look at your shop, you get a concrete estimate.
Does this replace legal advice?
No. We implement the requirements technically, following the regulation. Which obligations apply to your business model is for your legal adviser or legal-text provider to clarify.
